Mr. Bill Alcorn, Schuetzenmeister The American single Shot Rifle Association is an organization devoted to the promotion of fellowship among those interested in the use, study and preparation of single shot rifle developed between the end of the Civil War and the beginning of the First World War.
The Delaware Valley Single Shot Association is an affiliated club. Rifle matches are held at Conestoga gun club in Southampton. Matches are held during the months of December, January, February and March. All matches are shot from the offhand position with a single shot rifle. A single shot rifle does not have a turning bolt or pump action. Ammunition used for these matches must be as follows: 22 rim fire, all lead bullets, no gas checks and squib loads only. These are fired at a distance of Fifty feet. |
